In this section of our website we expose some of the techniques that others are using in order to improve their chances of winning the auctions on BidBudgie. By following this advice and adapting it to suit your specific style, you could be more successful while playing on our online auction.
To give you a better understanding of the array of bids within the All Bids Table, you need to have some of your own bids listed in the ranked unique bids. The simplest way to do this is to place some bids early in the game and use a pattern of bid amounts (use the Multi-Bid-Picker to make this even easier).
Next, choose your pattern (for example choose every 10p or every 20p) and choose the range over which you want to spread your pattern (for an item with a bid range from £0.01 to £6.00 you might choose to place your bid pattern between £0.03 and £2.03). When making your choices, don’t use round numbers to place your bids (such as 20p, 40p, 50p etc) as others may choose the same amounts.
As an example, using the choices above and 10p increments you would place the following bids; 0.03, 0.13, 0.23, 0.33, 0.43, 0.53, 0.63… etc up to 1.83, 1.93 and 2.03. In all that would be a total of 20 bids that you would be paying the bid price for, but as the game progresses you will be able to see where other bids fall between each of your bids within the pattern. This will give you a very good indication of where any unused bid amounts may be between each of your patterned bids.
In broad terms, there are two ways to become the leader. You can do it by placing a new bid that is the Lowest Unique Bid or you can place a bid that knocks one of your opponents off the top spot and makes one of your existing unique bids the Lowest Unique Bid.
Understanding this concept means you can start to bid tactically to push your unique bids to the top of the rankings. This technique is especially useful when combined with Tip 1, as you’ll have some knowledge of existing bid amounts within the All Bids table.
OK, on to the technique. Let’s assume you have unique bids placed in positions #2, #3 and #5 within the All Bids table and that these bid amounts are £0.23, £0.43 and £0.63 respectively. There is obviously one unique bid that is lower than your £0.23 bid, so you can try to place a bid on the same amount as the current leader to make their bid non-unique.
Without using Tip 1 there would be a possible 22 bids to choose from but using Tip 1, depending on how your £0.03 and £0.13 bids had performed, you should be able to narrow down this 22 to perhaps 9 – saving you the extra cost of the full 22 bids.
The games on BidBudgie are great fun and users can sometimes get a little carried away on particular items. We highly recommend setting yourself a daily or weekly budget and not spending a penny more than your budget in order for the game to continue to be fun. We certainly don’t want you to spend more than you can afford within our games.
Please remember that you can’t win every game that you play on BidBudgie, so you need to enjoy the games responsibly and know when it’s time to stop bidding on certain games and try one of our other items instead.
It can take a few seconds to send your bids over the internet and to our server after you press the 'Bid' button, so leaving your bidding until just a second or two from the end is very risky. If the auction has ended before your bids are properly received, they will NOT be submitted in the game. So make sure you allow plenty of time for them to be sent - we'd recommend at least 10-15 seconds to be safe.
