Our auctions rely heavily on your skill to make one of your bids the lowest unique bid in order to win. Winning just got a whole lot easier with the introduction of BidBudgie's revolutionary new Bid-Hinting system.
The earlier you bid, the more hints you'll get for free! We've decided that players who bid early should be rewarded, so here's how the bid-hinting system is applied throughout the lifespan of an auction.
When the Bid Bar is less than 30% (green)
All Free
Every bid you place will receive a FREE hint automatically as soon as the bid becomes non-unique, regardless of when it is made non-unique.
When the Bid Bar is between 30% and 69% (yellow)
Free but limited
You can still get a limited number of FREE hints for any non-unique bids during this time, but this is your last chance to get any free hints.
When the Bid Bar is between 70% and 99% (orange)
Limted & not free
You can still get a limited number of hints at this time, but they're no longer free. You will be charged the same fee as the Bid Price for each hint you request.
When the Bid Bar is FULL (red)
No more hints
That's it! You can't get any more hints once the Bid Bar is full. Don't forget that your hints from the earlier stages will still be there to help you.
The hint will tell you whether your bid is "Too High" or "Too Low" in relation to the amount of the current leading bid. This will help you to understand where to bid in order to win.
Once you've been given a hint on one of your bids, it's there forever! As the auction progresses and more bids are placed your hint will update so that it always points you to the current leading bid, right up until the end of the auction.
This depends on the status of the auction's Bid Bar:
The number of hints you can get varies at each stage of the auction. When the Bid Bar is GREEN the number of hints is unlimited - the more bids you place, the more hints you'll get. Once it's YELLOW you can only get the number of hints indicated in the left-hand column of the auction view. When it changes to ORANGE the number of hints allowed is again shown in the left-hand column, but this time you'll be charged for each hint. After the BidBar is RED then you can't get any hints at all.
In our free to bid auctions, we've removed the GREEN stage from the hinting cycle completely and left the remaining 3 stages as normal. BUT, we've changed the percentages a little:
